Kirsty Wain (XX) - Under the Mediterranean Sun (Altea Pines)

Title: Under the Mediterranean Sun (Altea Pines) Artist: Kirsty Wain Medium: Watercolor on paper Dimensions: 49 x 38.5 cm (image size) + 1 cm white border A luminous, highly expressive original watercolor landscape titled Under the Mediterranean Sun (Altea Pines) by contemporary artist Kirsty Wain. Infused with the bold color palette and dynamic rhythm of Fauvism, this captivating scene channels the radiant warmth and intense coastal light near Altea, Spain. Wain transforms a quiet pine woodland into an energetic visual spectacle, rendering sinuous, sculptural tree trunks in vibrant shades of magenta, deep violet, and cobalt blue. These striking tones contrast wonderfully against lush green foliage and warmth-radiating earth. The undulating patterns and expressive brushwork throughout the terrain capture the essence of a sun-soaked afternoon in the south. Painted on high-quality paper 300gm watercolour paper, the artwork features an additional 1 cm white border surrounding the 49 x 38.5 cm image area, making it ideal for effortless custom matting and framing. Provenance: Direct from the artist's studio. A Certificate of Authenticity (COA) signed by Kirsty Wain will be included. Shipped with tracked and signed service. Frame not included About the Artist Kirsty Wain is a British painter currently living and working in Spain. Deeply connected to the Mediterranean landscape, her work offers an expressive, emotive interpretation of the surrounding environment. Drawing strong inspiration from Post-Impressionism and the bold colour theory of Fauvism, Wain uses vibrant hues, textured application, and fluid line work to capture the intrinsic energy, spirit, and light of a location. Her paintings, frequently focused on ancient olive groves, hillside pines, and sweeping terrains—seek to translate fleeting personal moments and deep emotional ties to place directly onto the canvas. Wain’s distinct visual language continues to gain international visibility, and her paintings are held in private collections around the world. ´ I love colour. I love nature. I love art. Together, they are my language. ´ K Wain 2025 Artist Profile & Education Background: British contemporary landscape painter based in Spain, combining her artistic practice with a long-standing career in art education.
