Title: Pines by the Mediterranean, Marina Baixa Artist: Kirsty Wain Medium: Acrylic on canvas Signature: Hand-signed by the artist on the lower right ("Wain '26") Canvas Size (Painted Area): 70 x 90 cm A striking, vibrant acrylic painting on canvas by British artist Kirsty Wain, belonging to her Luminous Pine Tree series. This vertical composition captures the iconic, wind-sculpted coastal pine trees overlooking the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean in Marina Baixa, Spain. Executed in Wain’s signature Fauvist-Expressionist style, the painting features undulating, ribbon-like tree trunks saturated in rich purples, radiant magentas, fiery oranges, and warm golden yellows. Dynamic, rhythmic brushstrokes bring the lush green needles and dappled coastal path to life, set against a shimmering turquoise sea. The piece radiates heat, movement, and the vivid light of the Spanish coast, blending raw natural energy with a sophisticated modern color palette. A standout addition for collectors of modern expressionism, contemporary Mediterranean landscapes, or bold colourist artworks. Frame not included About the Artist Kirsty Wain is a British painter currently living and working in Spain. Deeply connected to the Mediterranean landscape, her work offers an expressive, emotive interpretation of the surrounding environment. Drawing strong inspiration from Post-Impressionism and the bold colour theory of Fauvism, Wain uses vibrant hues, textured application, and fluid line work to capture the intrinsic energy, spirit, and light of a location. Her paintings, frequently focused on ancient olive groves, hillside pines, and sweeping terrains—seek to translate fleeting personal moments and deep emotional ties to place directly onto the canvas. Wain’s distinct visual language continues to gain international visibility, and her paintings are held in private collections around the world. ´ I love colour. I love nature. I love art. Together, they are my language. ´ K Wain 2025 Artist Profile & Education Background: British contemporary landscape painter based in Spain, combining her artistic practice with a long-standing career in art education.
