Todas las subastas / Arte contemporáneo / Kiri Aguilera (1982) - Vibración Cromática
Kiri Aguilera (1982) is a Cuban-born artist, currently residing in Spain, whose work is distinguished by a sophisticated visual language where contemporary abstraction, poetic figuration, and gestural expressiveness converge. Trained in professional art schools, her career reveals a solid academic foundation that manifests in mastery of drawing, composition, and the spatial construction of the canvas. On this technical structure, the artist has developed a personal, deeply recognizable style in which the line takes a leading role as an element of rhythm, tension, and visual narration. Her acrylic-on-canvas production, entirely handmade, stands out for a vibrant chromatic richness and the presence of carefully balanced pictorial layers. Color, far from being merely ornamental, acts as an emotional vehicle that transforms each work into a sensory experience of great impact. Within her thematic universe, female figures, floral compositions, and the stylized representation of animals stand out, elements that the artist reinterprets through a language that oscillates between abstract synthesis and suggested figuration. Her large-format works — usually larger than 100 cm — are conceived for spaces with a strong aesthetic presence, creating a direct relationship with interior architecture and becoming authentic focal points within the environment. The delicacy of the stroke, the elegance of the lines, and the intensity of color contribute to each piece a contemporary and highly decorative visual identity, without losing conceptual depth or artistic value. Kiri Aguilera’s work is especially attractive to collectors and lovers of contemporary art who seek original pieces with strong visual presence, impeccable technique, and a distinctive aesthetic. Each canvas conveys refined sensitivity, where gestural energy coexists with compositional harmony, generating works of great sophistication, ideal for private collections as well as for curatorial spaces and high-end interior design projects. This work, a acrylic on canvas with a markedly cubist and abstract-figurative style, presents the figure of a horse standing on a fragmented background. The composition is built through the deconstruction of the subject into facets and superimposed geometric planes that integrate the animal’s body with the surrounding environment. The color palette is vibrant and contrasted, using warm tones of orange, yellow, and red on the horse’s body against a background of deep blues and cyans, with accents of pure black that add depth and drama. The application of paint combines blocks of solid color with areas that reveal subtle textures and even fine graphic patterns in some sections, creating a sense of rhythm and dynamic movement that transcends the static pose of the creature. The light does not fall in a naturalistic way, but emanates from the color blocks themselves, heightening the piece’s architectural structure and offering a lyrical and fragmented interpretation of the strength and grace of the equine.
