This work is delivered with its velvet brocade slipcover, signed by KARL LAGASSE, handcrafted in Normandy. • Details: Artwork signed and numbered. • Edition: Limited series, numbered 01 to 33. • Authenticity: Delivered with the artist’s official certificate of authenticity. • Shipping: The work will be sent with a random number, subject to stock availability. Delivery information: You will receive our shipments, both domestic and international, exclusively via DHL Express, our logistics partner. The artworks are shipped from the artist based in the United States to our logistics platform in France, which handles import and customs clearance, before returning them individually to our collectors without any constraints. The transport cost includes all charges from the United States to your home. IMPORTANT: NEVER accept a damaged package without opening and inspecting it. If the work is damaged, you must refuse delivery and indicate the reason for the refusal on the delivery note, noting issues such as "broken," "scratched," "damaged," or "bent." If only the packaging is deteriorated but the contents are intact, you may accept the package. Conversely, if both packaging and contents are damaged, you must refuse the package without hesitation. Karl Lagasse, a renowned artist, gained prominence in 2009 with his sculptures One Dollar, ranking that year among the ten best sculptors under 30 according to Artprice. In 2012, the New York publication Farameh named him one of the fifty best contemporary artists, inspired by traditional American icons, in its book FOR WHICH IT STANDS: Americana in Contemporary Art. More recently, in 2016, at the Art Paris Art Fair, the President of the French Republic warmly congratulated Karl for his impressive 2-meter bronze sculpture One Dollar, exhibited at the Grand Palais. Karl’s artistic journey began at age 7 with collages, spurred by his meeting with sculptor César Baldaccini. He later turned to tagging and graffiti in the Paris metro while remaining passionate about collages. Artist Yvaral Vasarely encouraged him to merge his tags with his collages. In 2003, Karl prepared his first exhibition in Paris, which led to his first solo show in 2006 at the Isy Brachot gallery in Brussels. In 2008, he returned to Paris with an exhibition combining paintings, sculptures, and video elements at the Espace Pierre Cardin. 2026: - Finalization of the work One Dollar Green Bronze 8 meters, 7 tons. The largest One Dollar sculpture in the world created by the artist. 2025: - Installation of the monumental work Reflection of the Sun. Installed near the new Pavillon des Bains on the Promenade Michel d’Ornano, inaugurated by Mayor Philippe Augier on September 8. 2024: - Art Miami - Group exhibitions Galerie Nicolas Auvray New York. For the occasion, a bronze cryptogram of 1.80 m and a 2-meter One Dollar were showcased during the event. - 50th anniversary of the Deauville American Film Festival; for the occasion, the artist created 18 bronze trophies as well as a 2-meter sculpture to be installed at the CID. Special performance by his wife, the opera singer Cherise Lagasse, who performed pieces from her repertoire. 2015: - Second collaboration with Maserati, creating a monumental installation titled "A Piece of Heaven on Earth." This work features a Maserati wrapped in a white plastic film and a sculpture of Jesus Christ. Around the car, several dollar-bill sculptures are laid on the ground, symbolizing the repayment of humanity’s greatest debt. - Art Paris - Galerie Michel Vidal 2014: - Maserati presents for the world premiere the Maserati Ghibli redesigned by artist Karl Lagasse on the occasion of the brand’s 100th anniversary. - Solo exhibition at the Italian Embassy in Paris.
