A heavy and exceptional thickly potted Chinese porcelain lobed pattipan or serving dish, with a central decoration of a Taoist Scholar Fishing in Tranquil Master of the Rocks Mountainous River Landscape with Character shaped Trees, executed in a nice underglaze blue. In the border a classical decoration of repetitive geometrical patterns. Handcrafted in ancient China during the Qing dynasty, late Kangxci reign, ca. 1700-1720.
