Delivery: The work will be shipped from France, carefully packaged and insured. About the artist: Born in Nantes, Kafé Korsé has always loved drawing. His heart beats for it. He began drawing on large formats in high school, thanks to a meeting. Before expressing himself in his works, he always goes through drawing as a progressive base, which allows room for error and experimentation. His inspiration comes from everything that existed in drawing: characters and manga – highly detailed DMV characters, graffiti with messages, compositions… then lettering from social networks. The people who have driven him: Reso, Persu. But also: Magritte, Dali, Escher (genius of engraving, trompe l’œil, mise en abyme, infinity). He has been painting for 13 years; for 3 or 4 years he has been seeking new things, to break habits, go further than what he knows how to do. Inspiration from things beyond graffiti: film, travel, people's lives, culture, encounters… A simple light can fascinate him. He looks for contrasts: blur/sharp, past/present… In permanent search, not seeking aesthetics or to please. Spontaneity. He loves poetry and humor: Coluche, Desproges, Brassens… Humor to give a free and naive side. Like a child. Break the pragmatism that the adult has in him. A poorly constructed cardboard plane, with a pilot wearing a Formula 1 helmet, not a beautiful plane that flies. His works tell stories, carry a message… Over-connectivity wears on him; people forget to look around them. His messages are often political, against a society of over-consumption/pollution. About the work: “Please mind the gap, between the train and the platform” is what we hear during our daily metro journeys. This composition with tangled elements reflects the everyday life each of us experiences in the subway. Thus animals might provide a metaphorical sense to “the race against time” represented by an ostrich, a horse, a shattered clock, and people running. Inspiration comes from metro exits and stations. The idea is to offer a wry critique of daily reality.
