### Vintage Gobelin Tapestry – *L’embarquement pour Cythère* – French Romantic Scene Decorative vintage Gobelin-style tapestry depicting **“L’embarquement pour Cythère”**, inspired by the celebrated fête galante subject associated with 18th-century French painting. The scene shows elegantly dressed figures gathered in an idyllic landscape, surrounded by lush vegetation, cherubs and a distant coastal setting. The composition is woven in warm, muted tones of olive green, ochre, beige, rose and brown, with a decorative floral border running around the perimeter. At the lower edge, the title **“L’embarquement pour Cythère”** is woven into the textile. The tapestry is mounted on a wooden stretcher/frame, allowing it to be displayed directly as a wall panel. On the reverse, part of the original textile label remains visible, including the wording JP Paris Panneaux Gobelins together with handwritten reference numbers. **Dimensions:** approx. H 130 × W 80 cm The piece is vintage and shows age-related wear, including slight fading, minor irregularities and signs of use consistent with its age. The reverse and mounting structure also show wear and previous handling. The photographs are an integral part of the description and accurately show the condition of the object.
