Rare dinner service produced in England by Johnson Bros. in the 20th century. They became famous for "White Granite", a very durable earthenware similar to porcelain but as sturdy as ironstone. From the late 19th century they rapidly expanded into the United States, where theirTransferware decorations became iconic. In 1968, to meet increasing competition, Johnson Brothers became part of the Wedgwood Group. In 2015, after Fiskars, the Finnish company, acquired the Waterford Wedgwood group, production under the Johnson Brothers brand was officially halted.
