Johann Schultes per Dominicus Custos - Tirolensium...

1599 book with 28 prints of counts and princes of Tyrol from 1200 to 1600 and other illustrations with coats of arms and a plan of the famous engraver and Flemish painter Dominicus Custos. The book is a first edition in German from 1599; there are consolidation and restoration interventions dated to the period and to the consequent deterioration of the paper, although the images of the prints appear to be preserved. The binding and the cover are not contemporary. On the second page one can notice a somewhat invasive restoration intervention (photos 3-4); otherwise, by examining each individual photo one can notice virtues and flaws of this marvelous work. In conclusion, the book has been restored with inlays, consolidations in various parts, the engravings of the most compromised figures are those of Gerhardus, Leopoldus, Ernestus I, while the others are consolidated and/or with inlays, and Maximilianus is totally intact; for the rest, the most affected part is at the beginning as already mentioned.
