Series 'Domestic Corners' 3 - “Thread” Dive into a corner of memory where time stands still. Thread is a tribute to the hands that, generation after generation, have shaped the everyday with patience and craftsmanship. This timeless still life takes us to a space full of history: a vintage SINGER sewing machine on weathered wood, a wicker basket full of multicolored spools, and the delicacy of an embroidery hoop with a floral embroidery half-finished. The soft light entering through the window and the green-tiled background create an atmosphere of peace, nostalgia, and homey warmth. —— Jesús López (Valencia, 1982) began painting in oil at barely nine or ten years old, a hobby that he maintained until finishing the EGB and that remained paused for many years. It was during the COVID-19 pandemic that he resumed artistic creation through watercolor, a technique that allowed him to discover a language based on transparency, synthesis, and the active role of water in the creative process. After that reunion with painting, he decided to return to oil, first self-taught and later training at Aguaespejo Estudio with the Jaén-based artist Francisco Salas Quesada. His work moves between realism and impressionism, with special interest in objects and everyday scenes. His main reference is Joaquín Sorolla, for his expressive brushwork and, of course, for the light in his works. His journey in painting has really only just begun.
