Jean Laurent XX - Vue de la Fontaine René à Aix en Provence

Jean Laurent – Provençal square at the René fountain located at the top of cours Mirabeau – Original mixed technique signed Beautiful original work by Jean Laurent, depicting a charming square in the south of France, animated by a monumental fountain surmounted by a statue. In the foreground, the fountain occupies the center of the composition, while the old façades, shops and large green trees outline an urban setting full of character. A few discreet silhouettes animate this peaceful scene. The artist sensitively renders the luminous atmosphere of a Provençal town, thanks to a warm palette of ochres, deep greens and pastel tones. The spontaneous handling of colors, the play of shadow and light, as well as the finesse of the drawing give this composition a particular charm, evoking travel notebooks and illustrations of the 20th century. - Artist: Jean Laurent - Subject: Provençal square with fountain and statue - Technique: Mixed technique on tinted paper, probably gouache and drawing - Signature: Bottom right - Style: Figurative urban landscape - Era: 20th century - Condition: Good overall appearance, see photographs A luminous and decorative work, particularly interesting for lovers of Provençal landscapes, architectural views and original drawings.
