Work by Jean Gabriel DOMERGUE, mounted on a chassis/wood - canvas (marouflaged) 70 x 50 cm Joseph Charles Louis Jean-Gabriel Domergue, born March 4, 1889 in Bordeaux and died November 16, 1962 in Paris, is a French painter, illustrator and etcher. Did you know? Jean-Gabriel Domergue is the first cousin of the famous painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1906, obtaining an honorable mention in 1908, a medal in 1912 and a gold medal in 1920, (Among others, Nadine Lhopitalier, the future Nadine de Rothschild, served as his model.) The presented work is signed J.G Domergue - created for an exhibition of master paintings at the Carlton in Cannes - in the 1940s/1950s this Domergue work is published in the book La Parisienne by Cecil Saint-Laurent Artwork well packaged, flat, protected and insured – International shipping by FedEx.
