Louis XVI style jardinière Early 20th century Materials: gilt brass. Elegant tabletop jardinière made in gilt brass, inspired by the refined French models of the Louis XVI style. The piece stands out for its balanced, sober lines, typical of the neoclassical taste that characterized this style, reinterpreted with great success in decorative manufacturers of the early 20th century. It presents a semi-spherical body raised on a molded circular base, giving the ensemble a distinguished presence and perfectly proportioned. The smooth, polished surface of the gilt brass reflects light with great intensity, creating an attractive luminous effect that enhances the ornamental quality of the piece. The sides are embellished with delicate applications in the form of noble sphinxes, represented by idealized faces inspired by classical sources that hold elegant hanging handles. These decorative motifs evoke the fascination with Antiquity and Egyptian exotism that influenced French decorative arts in the late eighteenth century and their later reinterpretations. The combination of the brilliance of gilding, the purity of architectural forms, and the richness of sculptural details gives the jardinière great elegance, making it suitable both as an ornamental container and as a purely decorative piece. Magnificent example of decorative production in Louis XVI style made in the early XXth century, ideal to integrate into classical environments, collections of French decorative arts, or neoclassical interiors. Certified shipping and careful packaging.
