Beautiful and authentic Japanese porcelain tea and coffee service, executed in the famous Dragonware style with detailed Moriage relief decorations of dragons in relief enamel and gilded accents. A special and collectible feature: the two larger teacups are made from extremely fine eggshell porcelain and, when held to the light, reveal a refined Geisha Lithophane (embossed watermark). The service consists of: - 1x Large teapot / coffee pot with lid (approx. 19 cm high, 18 cm wide including spout and handle, diameter approx. 14 cm) - 1x Sugar pot with lid and twin handles - 1x Milk jug - 6x Saucers (diameter approx. 11.5 cm) - 2x Large teacups with Geisha lithophane (height approx. 5.5 cm) - 4x Coffee / mocha cups (height approx. 4.5 cm) Specifications: - Origin: Japan - Manufacturer / Brand: Maruku China (supplied with authentic factory mark with a crown on the underside) - Period: Mid-20th century (c. 1950) - Material: Porcelain / eggshell porcelain with Moriage and gilding - Condition: In very good condition with no cracks, chips, or restorations.
