Jan Wyck (Dutch, 1640-1702) A hawking party by a pool

signed 'J Wyck' l.l., oil on panel, 22.5 x 33cm; framed 42 x 52cm, Condition Report, Condition Report, Craquelure. The paint appears to be starting to lift slightly in areas. Two small losses in the lower right corner with the potential for flaking. There is a thin scratch in the upper left corner. Examined under UV light extensive overpainting and infilling shows to the sky and the top of the trees. Further retouching shows around the edge of the white horse with some small spots of retouching to the lower edge. Much of the surface is obscured by a thick layer of varnish which may conceal further campaigns of restoration. Please refer to additional condition images.
