Color Lithograph after James Rizzi – “Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte” We offer a rare color lithograph after a work by the American Pop Art artist James Rizzi. Rizzi is known for his colorful, highly detailed city and everyday life scenes, which enjoy international popularity thanks to their playful lightness and positive aura. His works combine Pop Art with urban joie de vivre and have a high recognizability value. The motif “Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte” is a humorous and vividly colored reinterpretation of Georges Seurat’s famous painting. Rizzi transfers the classical composition into his own lively visual language, creating a modern, decorative variant of an iconic artwork. The present sheet is a rare proof print that was used in the development process of the well-known 3D editions.
