Jaguar - XK8 - 1997

IN RESTORATION: • Iconic British grand tourer powered by a V8 engine • Equipped with a fully functioning soft-top canvas roof • Model supplied with a document case and original instruction booklet HISTORY/PANORAMA: The Jaguar XK8 (X100 series), introduced in 1996 as the successor to the XJS, marked a new era for Coventry’s grand tourers. Characterized by its smooth, flowing lines designed by Geoff Lawson, it was the first Jaguar to adopt an eight-cylinder V8 engine. This example is in running condition; it has been idle for a period and requires general maintenance and cosmetic and functional restoration work. BODYWORK/PAINT: The bodywork shows signs of age, scratches and spots that have undergone partial repainting. The front bumper is cracked, the rear tailgate is currently jammed (missing the tailgate and fuel release buttons), and the paint and windscreen seal are flaking. Cracks are also found in the rear lights, door seals are deteriorated, and the door seal housing is damaged. The canvas roof is operational, though the fabric is somewhat damaged and needs cleaning. INTERIOR: The cabin shows widespread wear. The leather upholstery has scratches, marks and in some areas the padding is peeling away. There are damages to the cup holder, the steering wheel is worn, door sills are damaged, and some dashboard buttons do not function. The original document holder and instruction booklet are present. MECHANICS: The car is running and the gearbox appears to function. Since access to the trunk is not possible to reach the main battery, starting requires the use of the jump points located in the front hood (via booster). The V8 engine is equipped with an aftermarket sports air filter. Sporadic activation of the ARS (stability/traction) warning light on the instrument cluster is noted. The tires are in normal condition with a DOT code of 2005. The car requires a service and general mechanical maintenance before road use. DOCUMENTS: The vehicle comes with the circulation documents shown in the images. The service history is not available (book service missing) and only one ignition key is provided.
