Italian school (XVII) - Coronacion de la virgen - cm 126x107

The Virgin appears with hands clasped in a posture of prayer and deep sorrow. Her bowed face and lowered gaze express contemplation and suffering. A child angel presents her with the nails of the Passion, while other little angels hold the remaining Arma Christi (the instruments of Christ's Passion), such as the cross or the spear. The composition is conceived to move the viewer's devotion. Style Italian Baroque, with a strong influence from the Bologna School.
