The work faithfully captures the complexity and charm of the original: The young noblewoman is depicted full-length in a sumptuous aristocratic 16th-century dress, with a lace ruff and a pearl necklace. Behind her, a large framed mirror reflects the girl’s shoulders, showing the back of the dress and the elaborate hairstyle, a stylistic motif of great perspectival mastery. At the young woman’s feet one can discern a faithful little dog, while at the bottom right the cartouche with the dedicatory inscription inspired by the sixteenth century is reproduced.
