Italian Large Carved Alabaster Lamp Modelled with Two Eagles, Late 19th Century
The shallow circular alabaster bowl supported by an impressive sculptural group of two heraldic eagles with outspread wings, carved from variegated alabaster and raised on a shaped oval plinth. The birds are rendered with crisply carved feathers, powerful talons and expressive heads, the translucent alabaster displaying attractive natural veining throughout. Italian, late 19th century.
