Illy - Ai Weiwei (1957) - Sculpture, Illy Art Collection - 6 cm - Porcelain
Illy Art Collection - Ai Weiwei. The new collection was designed by the artist Ai Weiwei. The design is inspired by his famous Coloured Vases from 2006. He dipped those vases in cans of industrial paint. With his participation in the new Illy Art Collection, Ai Weiwei managed to renew an object from the past and transform it into a contemporary artwork. Ai Weiwei, born in 1957 in Beijing, is a versatile personality. He is, in addition to being an artist, also a sculptor, painter, architect, performer, photographer, writer and human rights activist. He is best known for his outspoken criticism of the Chinese government.
