Pair of original vintage IKEA FRIPPE children’s desk chairs, type 12044, dating from 1997 and commonly attributed to designers Knut and Marianne Hagberg. The chairs feature a playful postmodern design with yellow plastic backrests, red-orange textured plastic seats, blue painted metal frames, red adjustment knobs and red caster wheels. Their bold primary colours give them a distinctive Memphis-inspired appearance. Both the seat height and backrest position are adjustable. Each chair stands on a five-star rolling base. Approximate dimensions per chair: – Maximum overall height: 82 cm – Current photographed height: approximately 74 cm – Maximum seat height: 48 cm – Seat width: 38 cm – Maximum base width/depth: 56 cm The chairs are in good vintage condition. They show surface scratches, scuffs, marks and wear to the plastic edges consistent with their age and previous use. The lot consists of two matching chairs.
