Ancient Russian Orthodox icon from the first half of the nineteenth century, “Do Not Weep for Me, Mother” (Не рыдай Мене, Мати). Suggestive and rare iconography of the Virgin in prayer before Christ laid in the tomb. Overall in good condition, appropriate for its age. It preserves a strong patina of time, with small gaps and losses of painterly material mainly along the edges. Measurements 27x21.5x1.7 cm. Auction with no reserve. Proper packing and fast shipping.
