Red quartz is not rare in nature, but this one from Valencia has peculiarities that make it unique. It is in fact double-terminated crystals of intense red color, shiny and also translucent, immersed in gypsum, which is also reddish. The color is not due to hematite inclusions, as is usually the case for red quartz, but to reddish clay. Photographed under intense light. The sample is photographed under intense professional light, to best highlight details and color. Any slight variations in color tones depend on the settings of the device used and/or exposure to ambient or artificial light of different color temperatures. CW2222
