ice 1913 Beach $10 HONG KONG (SAR). Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation. 10 Dollars, 1.7.1913. P-167. KNB55a. PMG Very Fine 20. A superb example of an issued 'Beach' 10 Dollars, part of the 'Scenic' group of notes issued by Hong Kong banks in the early 20th century. An attractive note with most of its original colours intact, the paper retains its strength despite obvious signs of circulation. Free from repairs, this is a highly positive factor and quite unusual. This type was issued with three dates, and the 1913 is generally considered the scarcest. It is hard not to think back to Hong Kong in the 1910s and realise that the survival of a note such as this is nothing but a miracle, especially in unaltered condition. PMG Comments "Minor Rust."
