Todas las subastas / Arte contemporáneo / HÖK (1984) - Scrooge Swimming In Money - Horizontal Extra Large XXL
ARRATIVE AND CONCEPT OF THE WORK In this work, Scrooge McDuck appears literally submerged in a sea of money, surrounded by banknotes, coins and an explosion of color. The scene functions as an ironic reflection on the role money occupies in today’s society and on how, very often, it is given more value than what cannot be bought: friendship, family, love, or time spent together. Through a recognizable pop iconography and a dense, chaotic composition, HÖK contrasts material wealth with emotional wealth, inviting the viewer to ask what is truly valuable. ──────────────────────── HÖK ARTIST HÖK Artist’s works are part of private collections in more than 20 countries and have been exhibited in art galleries in Spain and Europe.
