Hertfordshire Yeomanry Officer’s Helmet. A very good and scarce 1871 pattern Victorian example of a silvered skull mounted with brass acanthus leaf decoration, with a Victorian crown surmounting a silvered regimental Hart crossing water, with a brass backing shield, with two large gilt rosette bosses supporting a tan leather backed chin chain, with some minor loose stitching, with a plume spike supporting an incorrect black and white horsehair plume. The interior with quality padded brown cloth lining and shiver leather lining to the front peak, minor service wear, otherwise very good condition £800-£1,000.
