Lamp Description and Structure: Material: Entirely solid brass construction worked and finished. It features a stepped, mold-shaded circular base and a finely shaped turned shaft. Swivel Joint: The socket is mounted on a fork with adjustable tilt, allowing the light beam to be freely oriented at various angles. Dual Use (Table / Wall Lamp): The base has a rear metal slot designed for wall mounting, enabling use as both a desk lamp and a wall applique. Wiring and Details: Functional electrical system with a braided fabric cord from the period and a socket equipped with an integrated rotary switch. Collectible Focus: The Vintage Filament Lamp (ca. 1910–1920) An item of exceptional overall value is the large, intact and fully working incandescent filament bulb: Type and Blowing/Blowing? (This should be kept as “Blown glass mouth-blown”): It is globed-shaped (pear/squat shape) featuring the classic "pip" (the glass top vent) witness to manual mouth-blown crafting with manual air evacuation. Filament Squirrel-Cage: Inside sits a continuous filament suspended on a refined central spoke wheel, designed in the early 20th century to maximize light diffusion. Era: The combination of the glass tip and filament architecture places the bulb's production between 1910 and the very early 1920s. Brightness: When lit, it emits a warm, low-color-temperature glow that highlights the filament weave. Conditions: The lamp is in good conservational condition with a beautiful natural patina of the brass and light signs of aging consistent with its age. The electrical system is functional and the bulb is intact and lights up regularly. Prospective buyers are invited to view the photographic set closely, which forms an integral part of the description.
