Hamelink - Louder

This original work by Bart Hamelink is about the busyness that can unfold in our minds. The central figure literally carries a group of small people in his head: voices, thoughts, doubts and opinions that all seem to demand attention at the same time. The loose texts surrounding the figure reinforce that feeling. Thoughts argue with each other and seem to become louder. Louder thus tackles the question of which voice is truly your own and which thoughts are influenced by others, by expectations, and by everything happening around you. The chaotic, almost childlike lines, the deliberately irregular lettering, and the numerous figures in the head give the work a sense of inner restlessness. At the same time, there is humor and playfulness in the presentation. A relatable image of a head that can sometimes simply become too full and too loud. The work is executed in acrylic on canvas, is a unique original, signed by the artist and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Note: the interior photos are ambience images and are for impression only. Because of the size, the canvas is rolled and carefully packed in a sturdy square shipping tube. The work is delivered without the shown frame and without a stretcher frame.
