Champagne Bucket Modernist Guy Degrenne – Model "Newport" – Icon of French Barware in Brushed Stainless Steel – Twentieth-Century Design This exceptional champagne bucket represents one of the highest and most geometric expressions of the barware signed by the renowned French house Guy Degrenne. It is the iconic "Newport" model, a piece that radically departs from traditional proportions to embrace a purely modernist aesthetic, capable of elevating a functional object to a true tabletop sculpture. The silhouette develops through a sculptural inverted-cone flare, whose taut lines recall the architectural purity of Scandinavian design and the transalpine minimalism of the second half of the century. The visual and expressive focal point of the project lies in the two fixed lateral handles: two horizontal ribbons in solid bent steel strip that break the verticality of the body, integrating perfectly into the structure and defining a graphic profile of extraordinary visual impact. Made in 18/10 stainless steel of very high thickness – a hallmark of Degrenne’s quality – the piece is entirely enhanced by a brushed and satin finish. This material choice not only protects the surface from fingerprints during service, but also catches ambient light softly and diffusely, emphasizing volumes and the industrial-chic nature of the piece. The structural solidity and metal thickness also guarantee perfect thermal functionality for preserving large formats. The item presents in excellent vintage condition; the structure is perfectly intact and the surface shows a light and charming micro-wear due to time, a subtle patina of lived experience that certifies its authenticity without altering its strict aesthetic cleanliness. The original maker’s mark is impressed on the base. A piece of high-level mid-century modern design, ideal for enriching contemporary interiors, 20th-century design collections, or to give character to a sophisticated bar cart. IA-generated photos are representative and serve for the cover presentation and to situate the object within its setting. Professional shipping
