Rare decorative and musical object made for Gucci Garden, the Florentine space conceived during the creative direction of Alessandro Michele. The structure echoes the look of a small pavilion or architectural temple, entirely covered by a dense repertoire of black-and-white graphics, with floral motifs, animals and visual quotes typical of Gucci’s imagery of those years. Inside, a three-dimensional carousel with animal figures spins to the sound of the music box. The specimen preserves an original, particularly complete set: pink Gucci Garden box with the eye motif, original internal materials and the original Gucci Garden shopping bag. The completeness of the set is an important factor in the collectible value and desirability of the piece on the secondary market. Operating the mechanism, the internal carousel rotates while the music box reproduces the melody. The model is described in a market record with the melody of “Jeux interdits / Romance.” Mechanism marked with a single letter “S,” not attributed with certainty. Gucci describes Gucci Garden as a creative space inaugurated in 2018 in the Palazzo della Mercanzia in Florence, conceived under the creative direction of Alessandro Michele and comprising a boutique, a gallery and Gucci Osteria. It has recently changed concept and name, making the object even more exclusive.
