Golden pyrite aesthetics

From our selection of collectible minerals we present a splendid group of Pyrite crystals from the Huanzala Mine, in Peru. It is also characterized by a dense aggregation of crystals with pentagonal dodecahedral habit, with a brilliant golden color and sharp, well-developed faces on matrix, which increase its aesthetic value and mineralogical importance. The specimen stands out for the quality of crystallization and for the overall aesthetic balance, with features that enhance its natural structure and visual impact. Pyrite (FeS2) owes its name to the Greek term 'pyr', fire, because struck against steel it produces sparks, a characteristic used since antiquity to start fires. The Huanzala Mine, in the province of Bolognesi (Ancash, Peru), is a polymetallic ore deposit of lead, zinc and silver known among collectors for the quality and the pentagonal dodecahedral form of its pyrite crystals. The characteristic golden color and metallic luster, due to the iron-sulfur composition, have earned it the nickname over time of 'fool’s gold'. This is an ideal specimen for mineral collections, display, and for those who appreciate the natural beauty of minerals, also in the field of crystal therapy and lithotherapy, according to the properties traditionally associated with the mineral species. All minerals are 100% natural and untreated, with rare exceptions always indicated in the description. Photographs are taken with professional lighting to best enhance colors and details; however, slight variations in shade may occur depending on the device or ambient light.
