Goebel Sacrart – Kerststal / Nativity – 10 figuren – Duitsland – ca

Goebel Sacrart – Christmas Nativity – 10 figures – Germany – ca. 1958–1960 Beautiful vintage Goebel Sacrart Nativity group, manufactured in Germany and consisting of 10 hand-painted ceramic/porcelain figures. The group belongs to Goebel's religious Sacrart series and is likely from the late 1950s / early 1960s. Several figures bear the familiar blue Goebel mark on the base and are marked with “Germany” and/or “SACRART.” The nativity group consists of Mary, Joseph with lantern, Baby Jesus in the manger, three kings/magi, a shepherd with sheep, ox, donkey and a loose sheep. In total 10 figures. The figures are executed in warm, soft colors and are hand-painted. Especially the different robes, faces and attributes are beautifully detailed. As a complete group, the set forms a atmospherically pleasing example of Goebel’s religious ceramics from the mid-20th century. Condition: the nativity group shows age and wear and is not undamaged. Three figures have damages and/or old restorations at the neck area. Additionally, one of the kings shows a clear damage/restoration at the underside of the cloak/foot. Furthermore, there is localized light wear, discoloration and signs of use, particularly on the undersides. The damages are shown as clearly as possible in the detail photos. Please view all photos carefully; these form an integral part of the description and condition assessment. Despite the mentioned defects, the group as a whole remains attractive and it is an interesting vintage Goebel Sacrart nativity scene for collectors of Goebel, nativity scenes and religious ceramics. Brand: Goebel Series: Sacrart Origin: Germany Dating: presumably ca. 1958–1960 Quantity: 10 figures Material: ceramic/porcelain Condition: vintage condition; three neck damages/restorations and other damage as depicted
