Charming bust of a shy girl. Art Nouveau bronze. Early 1900s. Georges Van Der Straeten. We display the sculpture as clearly as possible, on white, on blue and on the original black wall. Height 38 cm Base 11.5 x 11.5 cm Perfect condition. (Comes from Sfinckz Antwerp) Georges Van der Straeten (1856-1941) was a Belgian sculptor born in Ghent, who primarily worked in Paris. At the Paris Exposition Universelle of 1900 he was awarded a silver medal. In 1903 he was named to the National Order of the Legion of Honor. Georges Van der Straeten is best known for portraying female beauty. His style aligned with that of Emmanuel Villanis.
