Friedrich Wilhelm Quirin von Forcade de Biaix (born January 11, 1699 in Berlin; died March 23, 1765 in Berlin) was a Royal Prussian Lieutenant General. Forcade took part in the Pomeranian Campaign of 1715/1716 and fought in the Silesian Wars (1740–1745) at the battles of Mollwitz (1741) and at Hohenfriedberg (1745). In the Seven Years' War he participated in several battles: at Prague (1757), at Roßbach (1757), at Leuthen (1757), at Zorndorf (1758), where he was wounded again, at Torgau (1760) and at Freiberg (1762). He was held in very high esteem by Frederick the Great, as this episode shows: During a court at the Berlin Palace, Forcade, due to his wounded foot, had to lean against the window. The king brought him a chair, speaking deprecatingly: “My dear Oberst von Forcade, a man as brave and as worthy as he is, very much deserves that the king himself also bring him a chair.” (Source: Wikipedia).
