Gabbeh - Rug - 113 cm - 72 cm - Indo Gabbeh

This hand-knotted Indo-Gabbeh is characterized by its especially calm, natural base design and few deliberately placed color motifs. The large open field is rendered in beige, sand and warm natural tones, and shows fine, slightly irregular shading that gives the rug a lively, handcrafted texture. Across the field are a few abstract, colored motifs. They appear in green, dark blue, red, rust red and brown, and look almost like small, freely placed pictographs. Their loose placement keeps the overall effect very restrained and modern. The rug consciously does not feature a classic medallion or a continuous ornamental pattern. Instead, its character arises from the interplay between the natural base field and the individual color accents. As a result, it appears at once original, individual, and pleasantly unobtrusive.
