For sale is an expressive, vividly colored oil painting on canvas that stylistically aligns with the French avant-garde. The work adheres to the tradition of the so-called "Intimisme" — an art movement shaped by painters of the Nabis group (such as Pierre Bonnard or Édouard Vuillard) and focusing on calm, private interior scenes. The scene shows a inward-facing woman in a white dress at an open window, overlooking a hilly landscape. In the foreground, the artist arranged a charming still life on a laid table. The bright orange lampshade creates a strong, almost Fauvist color accent. The loose, partly impasto brushwork and the masterful play between the warm, earthy tones of the interior and the cooler light from outside testify to great painterly skill.
