Autographed letter signed by Francis Poulenc, French composer and pianist. The letter is dated March 23 with no year. Written in blue ink on vellum laid paper with watermark. In this letter addressed to an unnamed correspondent ("Dear friend"), Francis Poulenc thanks for sending poems, which he finds their gaiety not in harmony with his mood at the moment, while saying that they comforted him in these "dark days". The recipient is not named, but he is the author of the poems sent.
