Magnificent antique frame dating from the 19th century, made in the classic “Salvator Rosa” reversed style. This particular profile, highly sought after, features a concave moulding that flares inward, creating a strong sense of depth, designed to enhance the perspective and three-dimensionality of paintings, especially landscapes or historical scenes. The construction is solid, made of solid wood. The surface is beautifully gilded and patinated, with a warm antique gold tone that shows natural and captivating signs of aging. The gold leaf gilding presents a lived patina, with delicate marks, abrasions and shades that give the piece an authentic vintage charm and an incomparable decorative richness, ideal for framing valuable artworks. On the back, as shown in the photographs, the frame preserves its solid original wooden construction, with a mounting hook attached and remnants of protective paper along the inner channel, bearing witness to its history and authenticity.
