Frame - Wood

Early 20th-century Italian cornice with gold leaf gilding and a molded profile. The wide frieze, lightened by grooves and thin concentric ridges, combines a strong decorative presence with a sober and easily matchable design. The wooden construction with preparation and, where present, plaster ornaments is documented by photographs of the front and details. Offered empty, the frame can be paired with a new work compatible with its opening. Era: Early 20th century. Country of origin: Italy. Materials: wood and plaster, gilded finish. External dimensions: about 70 × 53 cm, height × width. Internal opening: about 60 × 40 cm, height × width. Sold empty, without painting, glass or mirror. Good overall condition, with patina, small abrasions and traces of finish wear visible in the details. The back retains signs of previous mounting and superficial wear. Dedicated protective packaging, with particular attention to the edges and corners.
