Frame - Splendid Antique Frame in Eclectic Style...

Description of the item: Fascinating antique rectangular frame from the first half of the 20th century, characterized by an elegant two-tone effect. The supporting structure is made of solid wood, enriched on the front with a rich and detailed raised stucco decoration. The design is distinguished by a sophisticated color contrast: the inner central band features a dark finish with raised vegetal sprout motifs, framed by external and internal moldings entirely gilded with bas-relief floral decorations (leaves, buds and stylized tassels). The back reveals the splendid patina of antique wood and the classic contemporaneous corner joints. A piece of great character, perfect both to enhance antique paintings and prints, and to be set up as a decorative mirror. Dimensions: External: 60 x 50 cm Internal (to the rabbet): 51 x 39.5 cm Thickness of the molding: 2.5 cm Conditions: The item presents in good general condition, structurally solid and intact. It shows a magnificent patina of time and gilding. It presents slight and natural signs of superficial wear, small cracks on the corner stucco and on the profile (as clearly visible from the detailed photos), which confirm its authenticity and era without compromising its aesthetics.
