A Gem Uncirculated Example of a Wildly Popular Denomination Fr. 2212-G. 1934A $1000 Federal Reserve Note. Chicago. PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ. Unrepresentative of most of its peers that experienced much in the way of circulation likely at the hands of countless bank tellers. One would be remiss to overlook this example as just another example of this denomination from a "common" district like Chicago. Fortunate circumstance saw this piece kept away from the rigors of circulation likely in the depth of a safe deposit box or in the dark overlooked recesses of a bank vault for decades. This unlikely story of survival eventually saw this piece graded by PMG and assigned a grade of Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ at the end of the grading and encapsulation process. This distinction comes attested by knife-like margins and a distinct albeit contrasting overprint that offers further context to the grade assigned by PMG which stands towards the very top of the condition census. Even the most discerning of collectors would have a hard time not being taken aback by this piece which stands ready to distinguish whatever collection it may soon join at the end of what will undoubtedly be a competitive bidding process.
