Fr. 1950-E. 1928 $5 Federal Reserve Note. Minneapolis. PMG Extremely

Fr. 1950-E. 1928 $5 Federal Reserve Note. Minneapolis. PMG Extremely Fine 40. Low Serial Number. A lovely example from the somewhat more challenging Richmond district. This example offers bright paper surfaces, vivid ink colors, and sizeable margins on all sides while a two-digit serial number that reads "E00000019A"is a real blessing in numismatic terms and one that will add its share of value for an already scarce district. In recent years the serial numbers "E00000011A" and E00000012A" were also sold on Richmond. "E00000011A" was graded Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ by PMG and brought $2,400 while "E00000012A" was graded Very Fine 30 by PMG and carried a comment for "Thinning" before ultimately selling for $600 once bidding had concluded. The present offering comes from the second sheet of "Gold Clause $5 Federal Reserve Notes from the Richmond district to be issued under the Series of 1928 and offers a rare opportunity for the collector who specializes in Federal Reserve Notes or fancy serial numbers. Estimate: $800 - $1,200. Click here for certification details from PMG.
