EXCLUSIVE SET OF 8 GLASS COASTERS PIERO FORNASETTI Mythological Series "Le Arpie Gentili" — Special Era Edition for Bonwit Teller (New York) STORY & THEME This authentic and rare set of 8 fine porcelain coasters was designed by the iconic Milanese designer Piero Fornasetti in the 1950s. The series "Le Arpie Gentili" (The Gentle Harpies) poetically and surrealistically revisits figures from Greek and Roman mythology. While ancient authors depicted the Harpies as formidable storm monsters, Fornasetti reimagines these creatures as beautiful colorfully dressed women-birds, elegantly captured at the heart of theatrical cage settings and spiderwebs.
