Floresville, Texas. $10 1902 Red Seal. Fr. 613. First NB. Charter #6320. PCGS Banknote Very Fine 20. Nothing short of a survivor whose very history can be traced to the years before the Aldrich-Vreeland legislation of 1908. This Series of 1902 $10 Red Seal is nothing short of a fine exemplar for the grade assigned where the "Minor Corner Damage" mentioned by PCGS Banknote is at best a secondary consideration in the overall numismatic calculus. Effectively overshadowed by rich color and honest originality found throughout that's held together with luscious penned signatures attributable to Cashier J.H. Brown and President John Griffith, these elements collectively offer testament to a particularly appealing sight that helps underscore the innate desirability of this short-lived type that was ultimately discontinued in 1908. No doubt that a strong realization is certain to herald the end of the bidding process once this note crosses the auction block. PCGS Banknote comments "Minor Corner Damage." Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500. Provenance: From the Jack Copeland Currency Collection, Part IV. Click here for certification details from PCGS Banknote.
