[First Edition] The Philosophy of David Hume: A Critical...

Fourth impression, 1964, of the first edition originally published in 1941. Macmillan & Co. Ltd., London, with St Martin's Press, New York. Dark blue cloth boards with gilt lettering to the spine, in the original Macmillan dust jacket retaining the 45s net price. Binding firm and boards clean, with the gilt lettering remaining bright. Text block evenly age-toned, with some foxing to the preliminary leaves and occasional spotting internally. Provenance: Australian philosopher M. J. Charlesworth, associated with Bangor, with his ownership signature to the front free endpaper and his reading marks throughout portions of the text. These consist principally of pencil underlining and occasional marginal symbols, together with a small number of markings in ink. There is no written commentary. Original dust jacket shows age-toning, surface marking and staining, with edge wear, creasing, short tears and chipping around the spine ends and corners.
