Todas las subastas / Muebles, diseño & espejos / Fireplace accessory (2) - 19th‑Century Brass Andirons –...
Pair of antique chimney andirons, crafted in solid brass and wrought iron, with a classic French-inspired design. Each piece features a turned brass finial, with smooth, balanced lines, accompanied by a base with ornamental volutes, vegetal details, fleur-de-lis with pinnacles, motifs typical of 19th–early 20th-century craftsmanship. The rear structure, in iron, retains its original function: to elevate and support the logs to improve the fire’s ventilation. They preserve an authentic patina, with the warm shine of aged brass and iron in its original dark tone, enhancing their historic character. Approximate measurements • Height: 20 cm • Length of the iron bar: 38 cm • Width of the decorative base: 14 cm. Ideal for • Interior decoration with a classic or rustic aesthetic • Restoration of antique fireplaces • Collectors of historic metalwork • Set design, photography or ambiance. The metals preserve their patina and can be polished to a bright shine very easily, practical and manageable. This pair of morillos is not new, over 120 years old, handmade with their own finishes; the pinnacles have inclinations and irregularities typical of their age and use.
