Figurine - Large Vintage Sōsaku Kokeshi Doll (32 cm)...

Extremely large (32 cm) handmade creative Japanese Kokeshi doll (Sōsaku Kokeshi) crafted by the celebrated female artist Aoki Ryoka (青木 蓼華, born 1931). Aoki Ryoka is one of the leading masters from Gunma Prefecture and in her career she won the prestigious Prime Minister's Award (Prime Minister's Award). This particular model showcases her iconic and highly refined style. The doll is made from solid wood, finished with a deep, dark stain that subtly reveals the natural grain. The kimono is beautifully decorated with deeply incised, vibrant orange-gold chrysanthemums (Kiku), the national symbol of Japan that stands for long life and nobility. The original gold sticker with her signature in flowing brush script (蓼華 作 - Ryoka saku, "Made by Ryoka") is in very good condition on the doll. The doll is in vintage condition with character. There are scratches and signs of wear on the wood, the colors of the carving are still brilliantly intense. (see the detailed photos for an accurate personal impression). For shipments within the European Union, no customs clearance charges are included. The item will be carefully packaged and shipped. Please note that the packaging has been done by an individual and not by a professional service, so perfect packaging quality cannot be guaranteed. Thank you for your understanding
