Fiat OSI 1200 S Coupé – 1966 We are offering for sale a rarissima Fiat OSI 1200 S Coupé from 1966, one of the most exclusive Italian grand tourers of the Sixties, built by Officine Stampaggi Industriali (OSI) of Turin on Fiat mechanicals and designed by Giovanni Michelotti, one of the most renowned Italian automotive designers. Presented in the mid-Sixties, the 1200 S Coupé stems from the combination of proven Fiat mechanics with a coachwork crafted by OSI on a handmade basis. The elegant, sleek lines, characterized by the long front hood, the lowered cabin and the fastback profile, give the car a sporty and timeless personality. Production was extremely limited: only 70 units in total, making this model today a very rare presence on the international collector market. According to collectors’ records and information currently available, about four surviving examples are known, including the one offered here. The car was registered in 1967 and retains its original registration plates, a detail of particular interest for enthusiasts and collectors. In almost sixty years of life it has had only three owners, all passionate and connoisseurs of prestigious automobiles. The vehicle is registered with ASI and is accompanied by the Certificate of Historical Relevance (CRS), documentation certifying its historical and collectible value. Condition From an aesthetic point of view, the car presents a good overall state of preservation. The bodywork is well kept and shows some signs of wear consistent with the vehicle’s age and with a restoration carried out at the end of the Eighties. These imperfections do not compromise the excellent appearance of the car. The interiors are original and well preserved. There are a few light imperfections in the headlining and normal signs of use compatible with more than sixty years of life. The mechanicals, derived from the Fiat 1200, are appreciated for reliability, robustness and ease of maintenance. Maintenance performed Recently the car underwent an important overhaul including: - Replacement of the brake pump. - Replacement of the engine oil and related filter. - Replacement of the gearbox oil. - Replacement of the differential oil. - Complete cleaning of the braking system. - Installation of a new stainless steel exhaust system made by SS Competition. The car is perfectly roadworthy and can undertake long trips, of course with the precautions required for a historical car over sixty years old. Thanks to the extremely limited production, the prestigious design by Giovanni Michelotti, the original plates, ASI certification, the documented ownership history and the recently performed maintenance, this Fiat OSI 1200 S Coupé represents a rare opportunity for the collector seeking an exclusive, elegant, and hard-to-find model. An ideal car for joining a private collection of prestige or for participation in elegance contests, rallies and events dedicated to historic automobiles.
