Can I call you rose At first glance, everything reads as delicate: the wide-brimmed hat, the gloves, the yellow flowers cut with care. But look at the hands. They hold the shears with absolute steadiness. This piece doesn't depict fragility — it uses it as a decoy. Behind the woman pruning her garden lies a harder question: how much toughness fits inside a body the world insists on calling fragile? The manor house in the distance, the table set for tea, the ochre path winding toward domestic calm — it all composes a scene of ease. And yet she cuts with surgical precision, without hesitation, like someone who already knows exactly what must be removed for something to bloom. "Rose" isn't just a flower's name. It's a question about the labels we place on people — and about what we discover when life demands they show what they're really made of. A work about the strength that disguises itself as delicacy, and only surfaces when the moment calls for it.
